I’m Marc Carusiello. The only one.
I’m a writer based out of Los Angeles, originally from Orlando, Florida. Wait, are people actually from Orlando? That’s weird! Trust me, I know. But is it weirder than being from anywhere else, really? The answer is yes. I did learn a lot about Norway thanks to EPCOT having an unbelievable log flume ride (RIP Maelstrom).
After majoring in the history of themed parking lots in college, I narrowly escaped becoming a full time “Florida Man” by moving to New York City to work at the Late Show with David Letterman. Since then, I’ve been able to work and write in the entertainment and media space for twelve years. I’ve written episodes of the new Night Court sequel series, American Dad!, and a webisode for 30 Rock starring Kristen Schaal. I created Triton, a mer-man who comes from the ocean to teach humans how to make their own t-shirts in a commercial for Colman & Company. I’ve written jokes for Mulligan, an animated Netflix show starring Tina Fey and Dana Carvey, the Matt LeBlanc sitcom Man with a Plan, a Fox animation card-based app game, and more than a few unproduced TV projects and pitches.
This is a photo of myself where I feel most present: a buffet. I timed it so I could start when breakfast was being served, and then could continue to eat when they put out lunch. The world was my oyster, mostly because it was a seafood buffet.
Some non-career highlights:
— I re-met my middle school sweetheart 15 years later and we got married.
— My former roommates and I (spoiler alert) won an episode of “America Says” on the Game Show Network.
— I got to see Paul McCartney perform at the Ed Sullivan Theater (in 2009, I’m not that old).
— As a child, I was in an America’s Most Wanted re-enactment. I played a fugitive’s son.
— My last name is Italian and it’s pronounced: Care-uh-sell-oh. Most of the time, I feel about as Italian as a California Pizza Kitchen. My grandmother, however, is buried in the same cemetery as Al Capone.
